Thoughts:

"Jack and I separated in Portland a few days prior only to reconvene on my old home turf over three thousand miles away.
I was glad that as many people turned out as they did, but the immediate floor was a big open space in front of us. This oftentimes happens at shows, but I don't generally expect it in a living room. It was nice to bring the 'small acoustic house show' format to Birmingham, something that rarely happens there and I have enjoyed a great deal in Portland.
This night I played percussion on Jack's guitar case." - Niles

"When you start off with the Misfits cover to set the light mood and the faces of the listening crowd remain blank, you know you're in for trouble. (It reminded me of the very first TOR show in that regard.)
We were the only ones playing music on this particular evening, and I never really could tell if the people who gathered liked what they heard—other than those who complimented us afterward—but having Niles at my side with brushes in hand, doling out the beat on my guitar case in front of his hometown friends, it put me at ease. My head was congested during this and the previous two shows I'd played over the weekend, but luckily I made it through the tunes without too much cracking.
I played a few more songs than usual because one of my oldest friends, David, drove over from Atlanta to see us, and really, I would have been happy if he'd been the only one in the audience paying attention." -Jack
