Thoughts:

"Many of my songs have humorous little asides in them, and I sometimes wonder if people question whether they're supposed to think it's funny, but the tiny crowd laughed audibly through bits of the first three songs, and I was beginning to wonder if I had suddenly become 'Weird Al' Yankovic (but in a good way).
It was dark in the backyard by the time I'd begun to play. Niles cheered loudly from the crowd after my first song, so when it was time for him to step out of the audience, I joked that he was such a big fan, did he want to play a song with me? 'twitch,' if I may be a poet, went off without a hitch.
The message on my guitar this night was inspired by Tim's question after pulling some vegetables off the grill, 'Does anybody want a skewer?' which struck me as his offer to dis anyone who would accept." -Jack

"We played under a pear tree, with little lanterns hanging overhead. Needless to say, the ambiance was nice (except when the neighbor's dog put in his/her 2 cents, and at one point it sounded as if cats were fighting).
I didn't play on the first few songs and instead sat clapping with the audience. When it was time for me to join, we joked about me being such a big fan that I should just play along with Jack. I played on a few songs then he finished the set solo. When he played 'leaves know nothing of love' I felt like I was being serenaded from a backyard balcony." -Niles
