"This was the first non-all ages show that TOR ever played, and it was in a fairly large club, mostly empty of people. I couldn't really hear myself in the monitors and tried to perform as well as I could despite this setback.
I impressed myself by remembering the majority of the lyrics to my songs after having not played them for weeks. Aside from 'fork number two,' where I had to pause to remember a line, the words flowed pretty well. (I dedicated that song to Jeremy to commemorate the hit-the-spot Ethiopian buffet we'd stumbled upon that morning when we arrived in town after driving all night from Ontario.)
After two weeks of touring with my other band on our final tour and not playing my songs, I even had my laptop at my side, ready to open it to cheat and check a couplet or two, but I never ended up needing it." -Jack |
