Thoughts:

"Playing my first breakfast show made me realize that it really does take all day for my voice to magically warm up. I played last of a bunch of musicians and it seemed like a number of people had left the backyard before I was ready, but the people who did stay were friendly.
Jenstar was particularly excited after having contributed her trumpeting skills to a recording in the previous week. I played 'the broken bannister' for her because she said it was her favorite song on my newly-released demo tape. I also performed a cover of 'Something About You' by Level 42, which had been stuck in my head recently; everyone seemed impressed with the falsetto.
This may be the first show where I was asked to do an encore: Jenstar requested that I perform the song whose recording bears her trumpet, 'leaves know nothing of love.'" -Jack
