"I rode my bike all the way to Vancouver for this show, the first time I'd ever made the trek. When I got there my fear of it being a Christian cafe was confirmed, as I couldn't find any non-Christian reading material.
When I arrived I was told that the person who had booked me hadn't confirmed my appearance, so the cafe wasn't expecting me and thus I couldn't be paid. I thought it was lame, but I was glad to play anyway, as I'd ridden all the way up. Bill-mates Jaycob and Chad were nice guys and we had some good conversation.
My performance, though seen by only a handful who remained late enough to see me, was as close to perfection as I ever get." -Jack
