"I had figured that playing a show in front of a group of (mostly) strangers would be easier than the alternative. Think again. Opening my first show with 'Twenty Eyes' by the Misfits proved awkwardmy earnest guitar strumming and lyrics about having twenty eyes in my head seemed to confuse the crowd, who seemed not to recognize the song. Lots of awkwardness between songs, and when I played 'Lily Green eyes' I forgot the word 'brainless' and got caught up for a full minute trying to remember it before I could continue. ('Tuna fish sandwich?' Christian suggested.)" -Jack |
