Below are the lyrics to "Juneau, Alaska is for lovers," which appears on the first self-titled demo tape (RECDEL008):

Juneau, Alaska is for lovers

On some steps we sat, looking out over the skylined part of the city where I'd never been. You were in dark and specs—it just increased your stature. The characters: a nice San Francisco boy, a Saratoga girl so mean.

I'd rather ask out loud. Wondering is a bold endeavor yet I haven't a leg to stand, at least not here with me. I'm sitting, shivering. I suppose the cold was made for sweaters but I haven't a second layer underneath my sleeves.

We moved down the lane and missed some cross-streets all in the name of distracted me. I wrote my number down in your book on a piece of paper and went home to christen cassettes in your name, in that town down by the sea.

I'd rather ask out loud, 'cause wondering won't evade the weather, though I haven't a leg to stand, or at least not here with me. I'm sitting, shivering. I suppose the cold was made for sweaters but I haven't a second layer underneath my sleeves—so I'll take anything you have, it's just so cold; and I'll take blame for anything when it's all told; and I'll take anything you'll give. I don't know if I can go out in the cold again.
